Class Types
The School Curriculum expresses itself as a weekly Theme or Focus for your practice. This theme informs our choice of peak poses in the Basic, Essential, Intermediate & Advanced classes. Though part of a bigger Syllabus, classes are designed to be self-contained, and you will still benefit from the practice by doing drop-ins occasionally. However, to get the most benefits from our curated curriculum, you are encouraged to attend at least weekly for continuity of practice.
When we gain proficiency in these poses, we practice them in the following week’s Flow class as part of a dynamic sequence. Core and Stretch classes also relate to the Theme by strengthening and activating relevant muscles and releasing and stretching tight and sore spots to restore and renew.
(All classes are 60-minute duration unless stated otherwise).
Basic
Slower paced, foundation poses and detailed guidance accessible even for new comers to the practice.
Essential
A step up in the level of complexity from Basic. A balanced practice involving a variety of poses.
Intermediate
75 minute class with complex transitions and poses requiring a level of physical strength and flexibility, experience and proficiency.
Advanced
90 minute class taking the theme for the week a step further to explore challenging transitions and variations. .
Flow
Multi-levelled, movement based, and incorporating poses from the previous week’s practice.
Stretch
Relax, restore, unwind and lengthen will a slower practice focusing on stretching and releasing.
(All classes are 60 minute duration unless stated otherwise).
